2011 Masters Champion and Old Palm resident Charl Schwartzel was heard on the airwaves recently when he appeared on ESPN Radio. The program was The Golf Exchange, South Floridaâs only local golf show. During his interview with hosts Russ Evans and Craig Dolch, Schwartzel talked about his golf game and how much he likes living at Old Palm. Of course, Schwartzel isnât the only professional golfer who makes his home at Old Palm, the premier private Club community in the Palm Beaches. Fellow South African and 2010 British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen and Englishman Lee Westwood, whoâs ninth in the World Golf Rankings, also live at Old Palm. âNo question, we love Old Palm,â said Schwartzel, âLouis and myself, we went there, and then Lee bought a home. [Old Palm] has great golf facilities, and we love to be there. While there are plenty of restaurants in the area, most of the time we prefer to barbecue at Louisâ house.â Schwartzel enjoys the lifestyle so much that he and his wife Rosalind are finalizing plans on a new home that they will build in the Custom Estates. Home sites in this elegant neighborhood average one full acre, a rare and welcome luxury in the Palm Beaches.
