Old Palm’s esteemed Director of Instruction Mark Hackett, who “Golf Magazine” named one of America’s Top 100 Teachers, and Bud Taylor, a PGA Master Professional and Old Palm’s Director of Golf, have teamed up to put on another golf school at Old Palm. Hackett and Taylor will be joined by two other Golf Magazine Top 100 Teachers—Mike Adams and Kellie Stenzel—and David Edel, founder of Edel Golf, one of the game’s most renowned golf club designers. During the two-day school, every aspect of the game will be covered, including the fundamentals of the correct set-up, putting, specialty wedge play, and bunker play. To enhance the experience, the instructors will use the state-of-the-art technologies in Old Palm’s one-of-a-kind Golf Studio, including Trackman and the V-1 video system. Because the short game is so critical in golf, players will also have the opportunity through Edel Golf to be custom-fit for wedges perfectly suited to their unique specifications. That way, the players can be assured that the clubs, including everything from the bounce angle, to shaft flex to sole width, will be sized to maximize their individual games. Golfers will also play the three full-length holes—a Par 3, Par 4 and Par 5—adjacent to the Golf Studio, for a better understanding of how to manage their games on the course. Plus, there’s no better way to improve skills than hitting shots in real situations.
