While many of our residents prefer to dine in the intimate atmosphere of the Club at Old Palm as often as possible, occasionally it’s nice to get out and try some of the restaurants nearby. Palm Beach Gardens has become quite the dining scene lately, and the choice of cuisines is inspiring. Here are three of the most popular dining venues just outside our gates: Red Tapas Bar & Grille. Just opened in Downtown at the Gardens, this lively restaurant features wonderful small-plate tapas such as seasoned filet mignon, garlic shrimp, and bourbon spare ribs. Entrées include Spanish paella, smoked duck on Belgian waffles, and a delicate Chilean sea bass. Red is the dominant color, with a giant pair of bright red lips painted on one of the walls. 561-333-7331. www.redtapasbar.com Christopher’s Kitchen. Named for acclaimed chef Christopher Lawson, this restaurant features a serene, modern setting that perfectly complements its organic, plant-based cuisine. Dishes are highly nutritious and delicious. The diverse menu includes walnut veggie burgers, Pad Thai and organic-flour pizzettas with ingredients such as roasted corn and macadamia ricotta. For juicy steaks, succulent seafood and fresh sushi, all with a decidedly Asian flair, this restaurant prevails. Sesame ginger barbecue sauce coyly flavors the Kobe Skirt Steak. The baked lobster is served over a bed of baby bok choy, shittake mushrooms and snow peas. And there are dozens of mouthwatering sushi rolls and entrées, including an inventive Spicy Walnut Roll, a chef’s favorite. Located in Donald Ross Village. 561-694-1900. www.asianfin.net
