After dark norton museum 150x150

The Norton Museum of Art’s popular series Art After Dark is about to restart for the upcoming season. Billed as “Where Culture Meets Entertainment,” the weekly program presents a diversity of arts such as dance, music and film, as well as do-it-yourself art projects, lectures, conversations with curators and wine tastings. The programs are held every Thursday and usually relate to the Norton’s permanent collection, special exhibitions and significant historical or cultural dates. The re-opening event on Thursday, September 19, is a fine example of the variety of entertainment. Pop-country singer Sage Lehman will perform in the Atrium, the Switzer Sound dance trio will perform in the theater, budding artists can learn from the masters by sketching a well-known portrait in the museum, and one of the curators will lead a conversation on a Chinese painting in the collection. All this and more is offered in one evening. The various programs run from 5pm to 9pm, so be sure to contact the Norton for the exact time of the event you wish to attend. The museum is located at 1451 S. Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach. 561-832-5196. www.Norton.org
