Now that itâs getting cooler in the late afternoon, more and more Old Palm residents have started biking again. While the scenery is always wonderful within our community, there are plenty of alternatives throughout Palm Beach County. One of the most popular bike tours is coming up on October 25 (4 pm), when the Historical Society of Palm Beach County will lead a leisurely ride from the Johnson History Museum on Dixie Highway through the most historic neighborhoods of West Palm Beach. Along the way, a guide will elaborate on the architectural significance of the buildings, the neighborhoodsâ development (and redevelopment) over the decades, and how the residents have affected the local culture. History will definitely come to life on this 5.5-mile ride that will take about an hour and a half. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. For reservations and more information, call the Historical Society at 561-832-4162, ext. 103.
