The Professional Golf Tours have their majors and so does Old Palm Golf Club. One of the most highly anticipated major tournaments is the Palm Cup, an annual member-member for ladies and gentlemen. “We hold 17 tournaments a year and the Palm Cup is among the most important,” says Bud Taylor, Director of Golf. “Having an exceptionally robust tournament program enhances the Old Palm lifestyle and offers members numerous opportunities to mingle, build camaraderie and have fun.” The tournament was recently held over two days on Old Palm’s spectacular Raymond Floyd-designed golf course, and everyone in attendance had a terrific time. One of the Palm Cup’s most distinguishing characteristics is that the golfers play a different format each nine holes. The formats are scramble, alternate shot, aggregate score and better ball. Dozens of members participated and enjoyed the snacks on the course while playing, a lunch buffet, and an awards presentation over cocktails afterwards.
