Old Palm Golf Club recently hosted an event for Callaway® Golf at the Golf Studio and it was a huge success. Members were invited to drop in and try out Callaway’s new Big Bertha Alpha and XR model clubs. Every club in both sets was available during this Demo and Fitting Day, so Old Palm’s golfers were able to get an in-depth feel for their performance. Callaway claims that the Big Bertha Alpha driver is the most advanced driver that it has ever made, and Old Palm’s members were delighted with the results when they hit it. Golfers were able to adjust the vertical center of gravity on the driver, enhance the ball flight with movable weights, and dial in the trajectory with the adjustable hosel. Those advancements were added to help golfers drive the ball longer—much longer. Callaway’s XR clubs are for players seeking more ball speed and distance. The irons are cavity backed and their cup-shaped design allows more of the hitting area to flex at impact for more ball speed, especially on shots hit low on the face. The irons also have a weight in the bottom of the head, particularly in the toe, so they are more forgiving.
