Members of Old Palm Golf Club can enjoy private golf lessons with Mark Hackett (one of Golf Magazine Top 100 Golf Instructors), and at times, special clinics where Dan Terlescki, Director of Golf, and Mark bring in exceptional PGA golf instructors for two-day intense golf clinics. In addition, each week, there is a supervised practice session for men, women and mixed couple members, where the PGA Golf instruction team helps golfers to have a plan so they maximize their practice time for the best results.
Beginners just learning the game can practice in the driving areas at the Old Palm Golf Studio, and as they progress, can play the three holes at the Golf Studio that replicate the conditions on the 18-hole course. There is even a three-hole league for the beginners to help upgrade their skills before they begin playing in 9-hole or 18-hole groups at the Club.
Everything about Old Palm Golf Club’s golf programs run so smoothly, it’s easy to overlook the incredible abilities of the team that keeps Old Palm golf at the top of its game. As the newest member of the Old Palm team, Dan Terlescki joins Old Palm as the Director of Golf, encharged with carrying on the traditions that make Old Palm one of the most highly regarded private golf courses in Florida – from successful member tournaments and teaching programs to overseeing Old Palm’s golf course. Members of Old Palm enjoy a golf program that is fun for all skill levels.

Mark Hackett received his first golf lesson from Davis Love, Jr. at the Sea Island Golf Club in Georgia. At the time Hackett was 15 years old, and these first golf lessons instilled in him a love of the game and a love of instruction of the game. This passion was enhanced when Love introduced him to golf teacher extraordinaire Bob Toski, who taught him the “cause and effect” method of teaching golf.
Hackett earned his degree from the University of Central Florida and has been certified by Titleist Club Fitting System. Since becoming a PGA Professional, he has not only taught at some of the most prestigious golfing facilities, such as the Golf Digest Schools, but he has worked at some of the best as well.
Since 2009, he has been honored by Golf Magazine as one of the Golf Magazine Top 100 Golf Instructors in the country out of 29,000 members of the PGA of America.
