What a night at the opera Old Palm has planned. On Saturday, March 24th, residents will have the chance to attend âLucia di Lammermoor,â one of operaâs greatest psychological thrillers, at the nearby Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Howâs this for a plot? â Unable to be with the man she loves and forced to marry someone she detests, Lucia slowly becomes unhinged and is driven to murder. Add perhaps the most famous âmad sceneâ in the history of opera, and the show becomes all the more irresistible. As an overture to âLucia,â guests will enjoy a dinner buffet at the Club and a fascinating lecture by Old Palm resident Sandy Fisher, Managing Director on the Board of New Yorkâs Metropolitan Opera. Then, itâs on to the Kravis concert hall, where soprano Valentina Farcas will sing the title role of Lucia. Tickets are still available for $140 per person, which includes transportation, dinner and the performance. For reservations, call 561-472-5100.
