Many of the residents of Old Palm Golf Club attended a seminar at the Club recently to learn the basics of Facebook. It wasn’t just informative; it was a lot of fun. Armed with their iPads, iPhones and laptops, the group learned all of the essential first steps, including how to create a Facebook account, upload photos, select privacy settings and find friends that are also on Facebook. Some of the residents were surprised to discover that Old Palm has its own Facebook account, where they can read comments from other residents and find out even more about what’s happening in the premier private Club community in the Palm Beaches. Needless to say, everyone decided to “like” Old Palm. Social media expert Laura Ure led the seminar and offered plenty of one-on-one instruction for residents with specific questions about their Facebook accounts. The question asked most often was, “When are you coming back?” While a specific date hasn’t been set yet, it won’t be long until Part 2 of the seminar is held. During that session, residents will learn more advanced Facebook techniques and how to engage even further with Old Palm’s Facebook page.
