Old Palm Golf Clubâs Director of Golf, Bud Taylor, and Jerry Impellittiere from the Evergreen Club, recently won the 2012 South Florida PGA Pro-Pro Championship. The dynamic duo captured the title in dramatic style, winning a two-hole playoff, after finishing 17 under par.
The two-day championship was held at the challenging Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo. Sixty-two teams participated in the pro event, playing the demanding Hammock Course the first day and the longer Dolphin Course the following day. Taylor and Impellittiere shot 63-64 in the four-ball stroke play format, tying the score posted by Brian Peaper and Ed Humenik from the Lost Tree Club. On the second play-off hole, Impellittiere sunk a devilish birdie putt to clinch the title.
It was Taylorâs first win on the South Florida PGA tournament schedule, but surely not his last. Congratulations to Bud and Jerry for their victory.
