Starting Wednesday, August 22nd, the Golf Studio at Old Palm will re-open, giving members their first chance to enjoy the new TifEagle Bermuda grass greens. The grass is now sufficiently grown in on the Golf Studioâs practice putting green and on the greens of the three practice holes, so members can get a good feel for what itâs like to putt on TifEagle. The difference is striking. Stroke a putt on TifEagle, and it will roll much truer and faster than on paspalum, the grass that was originally on the greens. Paspalum still carpets the rest of the golf course because it keeps the ball sitting up beautifully. The weather has been ideal for the TifEagle grass to grow in, and it wonât be long until Old Palmâs Raymond Floyd-designed golf course re-opens, too. Until then, members can play and practice at the Golf Studio, so their games will be in top form for the season.
