He almost forced a play-off in the tournament, barely missing a birdie putt on the 18th hole. Oosthuizen, who plays on both the PGA Tour and European Tour, fired a career-best 63 in the championship the day before, putting him into position to win. But he wasnât quite able to hold on for the victory, in part because of a bothersome muscle in his upper shoulder. Next, Oosthuizen will head for the famed Crooked Stick Golf Course in Carmel, Indiana, to play in the BMW Championship, this yearâs second-to-last FedEx Cup event. Heâll be in good company, as Old Palm residents and fellow professional golfers Lee Westwood and Charl Schwartzel will also be playing. The FedEx Cup is a season-long points competition with the champion receiving $10,000,000 in prize money and a sterling silver cup created by Tiffany & Co.
