Holiday fundraiser raises awareness, too

December 13, 2012

This year’s Holiday Boutique and Luncheon at Old Palm Golf Club was a huge success. The 125 members and guests in attendance spent a wonderful afternoon dining in the Club, shopping for exquisite merchandise from numerous merchants and, most important, benefiting women in need. By the end of the event, the money raised exceeded all expectations. The record-setting proceeds of more than $10,000 were donated to the Mary Rubloff Harmony House, one of many charitable programs offered by the YWCA of Palm Beach County. Harmony House provides secure apartments for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. While living in this safe environment, the families are counseled to help them cope with their abusive relationships and empower them to make the best choices for their lives and well-being. Everyone in attendance was deeply touched by Harmony House’s support of women in need and happy that they could assist through this annual charitable event.
