Unfortunately, everyone knows how to hit into a water hazard. But how many golfers know how to hit out? Itâs not as hard as you may think, if you follow the advice of Mark Hackett, Old Palmâs Director of Instruction and one of Golf Magazineâs Top 100 golf teachers. As long as some of the ball is exposed above the surface, hitting out of a water hazard is actually an easy shot, which will save you a penalty stroke and get you a big round of applause. Here is Hackettâs recipe for success: ⢠Be sure not to ground your club ⢠Keep your weight forward to create a steeper angle of attack ⢠Keep the ball left of center for a higher trajectory shot ⢠Maintain a âquietâ lower body, swinging more with the arms Thatâs all there is to it. With a little practice, you will be able to successfully blast out of the water every time.
