“A full one-acre home site in the Palm Beaches is a rare, if not an unheard-of luxury,” says Connie McGinnis, Director of Sales at Old Palm Golf Club. “And it’s love at first sight when potential homebuyers see the selection of these home sites in our Custom Estates neighborhood. They instantly recognize that having one acre to work with allows them to build the home of their dreams, even an estate of up to 20,000 square feet.” Strong sales in the Custom Estates confirm that these generously sized home sites are in high demand. Earlier this year, Hasey Construction finished a custom home in the neighborhood for professional golfer Lee Westwood. While Westwood naturally chose a home site overlooking Old Palm’s spectacular Raymond Floyd-designed golf course, he also creatively customized the home to suit his family’s love for entertaining, including the addition of a fire pit near the pool and lounging area of their backyard. Similarly, 2001 Masters Champion Charl Schwartzel bought a one-acre home site in the Custom Estates and is currently finalizing his new home plans. Dreamstar Custom Homes is not only building in the neighborhood, their custom home was chosen to be the Build for the Cure Show home. During construction, funds will be raised for the South Florida affiliate of the Susan B. Komen for the Cure Foundation, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer. The nearly 10,000-square-foot home, named Palais de Tere or Palace of Tere (the owner), will feature five bedrooms, seven full baths, one half bath, a library, covered loggia and porte cochere. “That’s the beauty of a one-acre home site,” adds McGinnis. “Whatever the owner has in mind, no matter how imaginative or extravagant, it’s possible to build it. Old Palm is one of the precious few places in the Palm Beaches where there are home sites large enough to accommodate residences of this magnitude.” Prima, a recently finished custom home from Couture Lifestyle Homes, is a fine example of the design possibilities. This classically proportioned Italian-style villa encompasses 7,800 square feet and offers six bedrooms, six full baths and two half baths, with the majority of the home opening onto a spacious center courtyard, an oasis for entertaining. The openness seamlessly carries through Prima’s furnished interior, particularly in the main living area, which is one elongated space that encompasses the Valcucine-designed kitchen, a dining room that seats 12 people, a living room, and a family room. It is a truly unique residence that could only be built on a large, one-acre home site. Couture Lifestyle Homes is also building the Avanti another custom residence under construction within Old Palm.  This spacious estate spans 9,428 square feet and is designed to take advantage of a lake and abutting nature preserve.  The home offers five bedrooms, 6 full and two half baths, as well as a theater and abundant outdoor space for entertaining. Nearby, Casto Homes recently completed a 9,550-square-foot custom home that overlooks the 14th hole of the golf course. Its signature features include a private exercise room off the expansive master bedroom, a cutting-edge home theater, an oversized study, and a sewing room that was specifically designed to accommodate one of the owner’s favorite interests. Casto also purchased the one-acre home site next door, where it can build virtually any custom home that the new owner has in mind. That includes further customizing the plans for one of Casto’s models, such as the Catalina.  The Catalina will be a residence of 10,220 square feet with five bedrooms, seven full baths, two half baths, a game room, exercise room and wine room, with a our car garage.  The model can easily be altered to reflect the owner’s wishes. “Buyers in this neighborhood relish the idea of having a full acre to design around,” says McGinnis. “It sparks their creativity, encourages them to explore every possibility, and allows them to build a one-of-a-kind residence that perfectly reflects their lifestyle.” Old Palm is exceptional on so many levels, and that passion for excellence carries into the Club, a welcome blend of tradition and contemporary luxuries that feels like home. Designed to mirror the intimate scale of a Palm Beach estate, the Mediterranean-style Club encourages members to mingle in its casual, pleasantly understated atmosphere. Dining in the Club’s four magnificent venues is as exquisite as it is friendly. The sense of comfort and conviviality just naturally extends into the Spa, Fitness Center and the Casitas, adjacent to the Club where members can house their guests in sumptuously appointed suites. Old Palm Golf Club stands alone as the premier private Club community in the Palm Beaches, with new estate homes ranging in price from $1.2 million to $15 million. It is ideally located in the heart of Palm Beach Gardens with close proximity to a wealth of luxuries and conveniences, including access to the private beach and lavish amenities at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa. Additionally, Old Palm is near both Palm Beach International Airport and North County General Aviation Airport, which accommodates private aircraft. Old Palm is being developed by Clarion partners, a leading real estate investment firm with over $25 billion in assets under management.
