There are more than fairs at the South Florida Fairgrounds, which is located just about 10 minutes from Old Palm Golf Club. While the South Florida Fair is the signature event, there are plenty of other happenings each month, giving everyone in the family a chance to find something of interest. The Florida Sportsman Expo (October 12-13) is one of the biggest upcoming events for anglers, boaters and hunters. There will be free seminars on topics ranging from “Little-known Snook Secrets” to “Trophy Bucks on Bow,” fly-fishing lessons in casting ponds, the latest boats and swamp buggies, and all sorts of exhibits by Florida’s Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission. Adults $8, kids under 12 free. www.floridasportsman.com/expo If you prefer the indoors to the outdoors, the South Florida Fairgrounds will host the West Palm Beach Antiques Festival (November 1-3). Now in its 20th year at this location, the antique show attracts dealers from all over the country. There will be literally tens of thousands of antiques, collectibles and decorative accessories on display—everything from vintage jewelry to European furniture. General admission is $7. www.wpbaf.com To learn about other events or get more information, contact the South Florida Fairgrounds, 9067 Southern Boulevard, West Palm Beach, 561-793-0333. www.southfloridafair.com
