Being the premier private Club community in the Palm Beaches, Old Palm Golf Club has an enormous appeal that goes far beyond its luxurious estate homes. Itâs the lifestyle that truly sets apart Old Palm, especially the wide variety of family activities. Members delight in the fact that there are so many entertaining events and offerings for residents of all ages. âThe options for having fun are extraordinary without ever venturing beyond the gates of Old Palm,â says Darlene Impellittiere, General Manager. âWhile the Club is certainly a hub of activity, the possibilities extend throughout the community, including the golf course.â Over the recent holidays, Old Palm held a golf tournament and skills challenge for both adults and children. There was a scramble and alternate shot format, a putting contest, and a closest-to-the-pin competition, with prizes for the different age groups. For junior golfers that wanted to hone their skills even further, Old Palm also recently held a three-day golf camp that followed the teaching methods of the PGA Sports Academy. Golf has always been a key ingredient in the Old Palm lifestyle, as PGA legend Raymond Floyd designed the spectacular golf course and the Golf Studio practice facilities are unparalleled. In fact, the golf amenities are so well respected that several of the worldâs top professional golfers live at Old Palm, including 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, 2010 Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen, and former World #1 ranked golfer Lee Westwood, who has won tournaments on every major continent. Still, itâs the Club that hosts most of the events, which run the gamut from festive parties to elegant luncheons to rousing Pub Nights for adults with diversions for children on the adjacent lawn. Thatâs the beauty of the social scene at Old Palmâwhatever your interest, passion or age, thereâs an activity ideally suited to it. Kids are often seen biking through the three neighborhoods, enjoying the Clubâs swimming pool and bungee jumping on the event lawn. Their parents can join them, or participate in other Club activities like working out in the Fitness Center, indulging in Spa treatments and socializing in the separate lounges for men and women. âWe strive to go above and beyond to keep the entire family entertained,â continues Impellittiere. âWe want our members to think of the Club as a natural extension of their homes. We encourage them to participate in our scheduled events or they are welcome to hold their own celebrations by reserving our private dining room and wine cellar.â
