Rather than simply react to what homebuyers want, the independent builders at Old Palm have anticipated their desires. That way, when new models open, they beautifully reflect the very latest design trends. For instance, Great Rooms are now exceptionally desirable among the homebuyers at Old Palm, and many of the models throughout have been designed accordingly. “There has been a resurgence in Great Room designs,” explains Connie McGinnis, Director of Sales. “Our homebuyers love the idea of having one large area for entertainment and a seamless flow between the indoors and outdoors. Our builders realized that trend well in advance and built residences to perfectly suit that lifestyle. That’s why our models sell almost the moment they become available.” In the Isle Estates, Old Palm’s brand-new neighborhood of coastal architecture, Courchene Development Corporation has two one-story models available. The Bermuda-inspired Hamilton encompasses 5,080 air-conditioned square feet and features four bedrooms and five full and one half bath. There is a Great Room for entertaining with an additional club room that can be used as an office or media area, away from the main living space. Courchene’s other model in Isle Estates, the 5,129-air-conditioned-square-foot St. James features a more British West Indies ambiance with four bedrooms, five full and two half baths, and a club room. Floor-to-ceiling glass and high-volume open beams ceilings provide for a very light and open feeling in this residence. “Homebuyers are moving away from heavy Mediterranean architecture and embracing cleaner lines,” says Paul Courchene, President and Partner of Courchene Development Corporation. “The designs are still classic and elegant, but more livable. Insignia Design created our interiors to be transitional with happier, brighter colors inspired by water.” Spacious, open floor plans have been enthusiastically received throughout Old Palm. It’s one of the reasons Courchene cites for the great success of the Bentley, a 5,837-air-conditioned-square-foot model in the Grand Estates. Its fluid floor plan accommodates four bedrooms, five full and two half baths, a den, and an automated home theater. One of the home’s most dramatic features is the glass-walled wine gallery in the living room, another highly desirable feature. Hasey Construction has also included wine rooms in its two models in Isle Estates, which reflect the new trend of coastal architecture. “A wine room that takes up an entire wall really dresses up the room and functions as an alternative to art,” says Patrick Hasey, the company’s Director of Sales and Marketing. Hasey’s 5,275-air-conditioned-square-foot Bonair in Isle Estates offers four bedrooms and five full and two half baths. Decorators Unlimited created the interiors using light colors such as silvers and blues that imbue the space with an alluring informality. Another huge draw is the panoramic view from the second floor that overlooks the lake and the eleventh tee of Old Palm’s spectacular Raymond Floyd-designed golf course. The Belize, Hasey’s other Isle Estates model, is also two stories. This 5,540-air-conditioned-square-foot model features five bedrooms, six full and two half baths, a living room, family room, club room and upstairs lounge in a more traditional layout. Rogers Design Group designed the interiors with a distinct Caribbean flair to be in sync with the coastal architecture. Hasey has also tapped into the desires of homebuyers with its incredibly successful, two-story Ashford model in the Grand Estates. The magnificent 6,495-air-conditoned-square-foot layout boasts five bedrooms, six full and two half baths, a loft and a club room. The pool lies directly behind the living room, affording a clear view of the subtropical landscaping, open cabana and fountain beyond. “There is a sense of drama when you walk in,” says Hasey. “The Ashford is very Palm Beach because of the way the swimming pool sets up close to the home with a wrap-around covered patio. You can see the pool from throughout the house.” To appeal to homebuyers that prefer a Great Room design, Hasey is constructing its brand-new Windsor model. The 5,138-air-conditioned-square-foot Windsor will offer four bedrooms, five full and one half bath with a great room and club room. The spacious open floor plan maximizes views of the outdoor water feature. Mustapick Estate Homes also masterfully anticipated the Great Room trend, a design best expressed in its extraordinarily successful Marseilles model in the Golf Estates. After it recently became available, the fifth Marseilles just sold, a testimony that Mustapick has a winner in this 3,855-air-conditoned-square-foot, three-bedroom model. “It’s perfect for seasonal residents that want to relax and have fun in one room that fits all,” says Drew Giles, Vice President of Mustapick Estates Homes. “With a wet bar in the Great Room and a wall of tall stacking sliders to the outside, the Marseilles lends itself to entertaining.” However, like the other independent builders at Old Palm, Mustapick also offers a model with a more traditional floor plan for homebuyers seeking a separate living room, family room and dining room. In Mustapick’s case, that’s the Monaco, a 4,098-air-conditioned-square-foot home with a fourth bedroom for those seeking even more room. As always, Mustapick’s keeps up with current trends by designing a brand-new model in accordance with homebuyers’ wishes. Mustapick’s lovely Magen’s Bay will be completed by year’s end and will be a 3,869-air-conditioned-square-foot home with four bedrooms, a Great Room and a club room. It combines the best qualities of the Marseilles with the best of the Monaco, and is expected to be a great success.
