Casto Homes is one of the premier custom homebuilders in Old Palm, but none of Castoâs homes will be more appreciated than its latest custom residence. Itâs a new home for the four Florida panthers at the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter. Casto is helping to raise funds and build this state-of-the-art habitat for the stateâs most iconic endangered species. Florida is the only place east of the Mississippi with panthers, and itâs estimated that only 100 remain in the wild. So itâs critical to keep them safe and sound. âBeing a non-profit organization, itâs difficult for Busch Wildlife to make capital improvements without the generosity of people like the Casto team,â says David Hitzig, Executive Director. âHe has not only been a contributor, but a big volunteer in different capacities, and as a Building Contractor has helped build our bear habitat, welcome center and now the panther habitat.â The new enclosure will have three separate play yards with watering holes and climbing structures. There will also be six hurricane-safe night houses to accommodate the panthers currently living at the sanctuary, and any new additions. Most of the panthers living at the Sanctuary were brought in by government agencies as confiscated animals that were being kept in captivity illegally. The new habitat is located along the Sanctuaryâs Pineland Nature Trail, just around the corner from the bears. The old panther habitat will be remodeled to house the Sanctuaryâs bobcats. Stop in and visit the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, itâs a real wild adventure for the whole family. For more information or to make a donation, visit www.buschwildlife.org .
