Thursday through September 5, Florida residents receive free admission to the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach. Entry allows you to browse the permanent collections and the temporary exhibitions, and to enjoy the highly popular Art After Dark series that features live music, lectures by curators and films. Here are some of the offerings this month alone: ⢠The permanent collection includes contemporary art such as Frank Stellaâs geometric Yazd II, rare landscapes by American master George Bellows, and extraordinary works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Peter Paul Rubens. ⢠âWheels and Heels,â a temporary exhibition, takes a playful look at two iconic toysâ the miniature car (epitomized by Matchbox and Hot Wheels brands) and the teenage doll (the most famous being Barbie).
