Bill Gates did it. Cindy Crawford took the dare. So did LeBron James. And now Old Palm  residents and PGA professionals Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen took the plunge and got a bucket of ice-cold water dumped on their heads in the Ice-Bucket Challenge. It’s all for a good cause. The goal of the challenge is to raise awareness and encourage donations for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenerative disease often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. So far, the media sensation campaign has raised more than $50 million. Schwartzel and Oosthuizen were nominated to take part by their respective wives, Rosalind and Nel-Mare, who took the challenge along with Liezl Els, wife of pro golfer Ernie Els. The videos of their Ice Bucket Challenges can be seen at www.CharlSchwartzel.com under News.
