Screen shot 2015 05 18 at 8.15.06 am 150x150 Every month during the season, the Ladies Book Club at Old Palm Golf Club reads and discusses a critically acclaimed bestseller. The events have been great fun and intellectually stimulating, and this month’s meeting on May 20 is shaping up to be just as memorable. The ladies will be discussing “Moving Day” by Jonathan Stone. The plot of this cerebral thriller involves the theft of an elderly couple’s houseful of possessions in a sophisticated moving day scam. Yet, instead of passively accepting the theft, the 72-year-old husband traces the thieves across America to an ultimate chilling confrontation. “Publishers Weekly” calls Stone’s prose “crisp and elegant,” believing that readers “will cheer this unlikely hero every step of the way.” Stone wrote “Moving Day” on a commuter train from his home in Connecticut to his advertising job in Manhattan. He is a graduate of Yale, where he was a Scholar of the House in fiction writing.
