Screen shot 2015 07 07 at 9.00.38 am 150x150 Celebrating the Fourth of July is one of the most anticipated summer events at Old Palm Golf Club, and this year’s festivities were phenomenal as usual. They began with a bang and continued well into the night. To kick off the celebration, the annual Firecracker Open was held on Old Palm’s spectacular Raymond Floyd-designed golf course. Competition was fierce during the tournament, which followed a scramble format. It wasn’t too hot when the players teed off, and it turned out to be a beautiful day for golf after a brief rain shower in the morning. Later in the day, a buffet dinner was held at the Club, where the tables were decorated in red, white and blue. The menu was inspiring and featured Maine lobsters, Barbecued Chicken Breasts, and Montreal-Spiced Tenderloin. There were also traditional Fourth of July favorites such as hamburgers, hot dogs, Boston Baked Beans and Corn on the Cob. As expected, there was a great turnout of Old Palm residents and guests, all of them decked out in their finest red, white and blue attire.
