If your adventurous side is craving some excitement, you never have to travel far from Old Palm Golf Club and our luxury golf homes in Palm Beach Gardens to satisfy it. Our local area is teeming with adventurous attractions and activities, and we’re sharing a half dozen of the best.
1. Set Sail
There’s no better way to explore the Palm Beaches than by boat. Take it slow aboard a Sailing Rendezvous’ private charter or get up close and personal with alligators on an airboat in West Palm Beach. You can even tackle both land and sea on a DivaDuck Amphibious Tour, beginning at CityPlace. If you’d rather be one with nature, kayaking in John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is an excellent way to spend a day here in the Palm Beaches.
2. Ride the Waves
Not satisfied by simply sailing on the water? We don’t blame you. Try your hand at surfing in any of our areas beautiful beaches or jump on a Jet Ski to turn things up a notch. Looking for a more mellow watersport to take on? Singer Island is the perfect spot to paddleboard.
3. Hit the Racetrack
Yes, you read that correctly. Palm Beach International Raceway offers driving classes where you can really put the pedal to the metal. If that level of adventure is a bit more than you’re looking to take on, consider the go-kart track with karts that reach up to 100 miles-per-hour.
4. Lock Eyes With Lions
Did you know you can go on safari right here in the Palm Beaches? The drive-through safari at Lion Country Safari puts you within feet of lions, rhinos, giraffes, and more. Just be sure to keep those windows closed! Wind down afterward by visiting the petting zoo, walking through the aviary and feeding a giraffe or two by hand.
5. Dive Down Deep
We don’t walk on the wild side in South Florida, we dive to it. Artificial barrier reefs can be found at Phil Foster Park and at the M/V Ana Cecilia, the latter of which is a sunken ship that attracts sea turtles, grouper and plenty of other exciting sea life in a one-of-a-kind setting.
6. Golf, Golf, Golf
While Old Palm Golf Club, designed by Raymond Floyd, is one of the very best golf courses in Palm Beach County, there is a tremendous selection of great courses to play in the immediate area designed by other golf legends including Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. If you are looking for some challenges out on the course, you’ve come to the right place.
Host to the PGA Championship Tour, Palm Beach Gardens is considered by many a golf mecca for both new golfers and professionals alike. With over 160 golf courses in Palm Beach County alone and a large cluster of Tour professionals calling the area home, it is no wonder that it is best known as the Golf Capital of the World.
