Palm Beach Events You Won’t Want To Miss This December

With the holiday season in full swing, members and residents of Old Palm Golf Club are able to take full advantage of the holiday festivities taking place at the Club in our private, golf club community, and also enjoy many activities throughout Palm Beach. With a host of activities ranging from Snowfall in Rosemary Square to an elegant holiday dinner at the Breakers, you and your loved ones are sure to enjoy the holidays. Here are our top choices for events to enjoy this December:

Sandi Tree Lighting in West Palm Beach 

Spend the night with the entire family enjoying the ceremonial lighting of West Palm Beach's most famous tree, "Sandi", this year on December 5th. From 6:00 - 10:00 p.m., enjoy spectacular light shows, festive music, fun arts and crafts, and gaze in amazement as the 35-foot, 700-ton sand tree illuminates with more than 5,000 lights in honor of the holidays. As a special treat at this Holiday Tree Lighting edition of Clematis by Night, Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be stopping by to sit with the kids! The fun doesn't stop here - visitors can take delight in live entertainment from the Bay Kings Band, cross off holiday shopping at the Holiday Boutique inside the Lake Pavilion, create a life-sized snowman in SnowieVille, or play nine holes at Glow FORE It Mini Golf. You don't want to miss this family-friendly night that has something for everyone!

Winter in Rosemary Square

Experience the magic of snowfall in the newly-renovated Rosemary Square! Rosemary Square, previously known as Cityplace, offers the enchantment of snow while reveling in ideal Florida weather. Offered nightly, Snowfall on the Square begins on Saturday, November 30th and will continue until Tuesday, December 31. Rosemary Square is hosting an array of holiday events available to the public, including: 

-December 1: Artist Market and Holiday Showcase with Dreyfoos School of the Arts on the Square

-December 10, 15, & 21: Santa Under The Wishing Tree

-December 14: Ugly Sweater Crawl with Sunfest and Excerpt from Kravis Center's "Palm Beach Nights 1936" on The Square

-December 20: Festive Film on the Square

-December 22: Countdown to Hanukkah on the Square

-December 25: Christmas Day live music on the Square

-December 31: New Year's Eve live music on the Square 

Holiday Dinner at The Breakers

Enjoy Christmas Day on December 25th from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at one of the most elegant places within the Palm Beaches - The Breakers. Celebrate with a gourmet buffet in the stunning Ponce de Leon Ballroom, exquisitely decorated with glittering chandeliers, twinkling lights, and even more joyful decor. Offering the very best, the extensive buffet will include holiday meal staples such as hand-carved rack of lamb and beef tenderloin, the freshest of seafood options, including spiced jumbo shrimp cocktail, Alaskan King crab legs, oysters, caviar. Top this delectable dinner with sweet and festive desserts ranging from peppermint bark, creme brûlée, and beautifully decorated cakes and pies. Tickets are offered at $195 per person and $75 for children ages 12 or younger.

Old Palm Golf Club is hosting an array of exciting events this December!

 

Ladies' Guest Day

Beginning with lunch at 11:00 a.m. on December 4th, Ladies' Guest Day offers female golfers the opportunity to invite a guest to play in an 18-hole match. Members and their guests are welcome to enjoy lunch at 11:00 a.m. prior to teeing off. The game begins at 12:30 p.m. and will follow a "two best balls of four" format. Professional staff members are available to pair with upon request. Members are permitted to bring up to three guests.

 

Gentlemen's Book Club

Gentleman's Book Club will be held in the Clubhouse Board Room on December 4th at 4:00 p.m. Readers will dive into the intricate plot of Citizens of London by Lynne Olson - a daring novel exploring the United States' alliance with Britain during the War. 

 

Ladies and Gentlemen's Palm Club

On Saturday and Sunday, December 7th - 8th, a two-person team golf tournament will be held at Old Palm's spectacular golf course. Starting with a hearty breakfast at 7:30 a.m., the competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. After the rounds, players are invited to enjoy hors d'oeuvres during the award ceremony. Spouses and significant others are welcome. 

 

Gentlemen's Guest Day

After lunch on Wednesday, December 11th, gentlemen are invited to participate in an exciting game of golf starting at 1:00 p.m. The format of the tournament is a “two best balls of four” format along with a money ball challenge. After finishing the round, hors d'oeuvres will be served during the awards. Members are allowed to bring up to three guests. 

 

Gingerbread and Tea Party

On Saturday, December 14th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Old Palm families are invited to decorate gingerbread men and houses! Please RSVP by emailing Darlene.Impellittiere@oldpalmgolfclub.com or calling 561-472-5100 by December 12th. 

 

Breakfast with Santa

This year, Old Palm is hosting a breakfast with Santa! Santa Clause will be available to take professional pictures during the magical event, held on December 15th, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. 

 

Nine and Dine

Old Palm's Nine and Dine golfing event is also being held on December 15th, with a 3:00 p.m. shotgun start. Enjoy nine holes of golf with dinner and awards after. Guests are encouraged to join! Please sign-up in the golf pro shop if interested in attending. 

 

Winter Break Junior Golf Camp

On Friday, December 20th, and Friday, December 27th, young golfers of all skill levels are able to attend the Junior Golf Camp Clinic. Between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., juniors will receive the highest-caliber instruction while enjoying games and activities! 

 

Hanukkah Dinner

All members and guests are welcome to join a family-style dinner in celebration of Hanukkah on Sunday, December 22nd from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Gentlemen are required to wear long pants and collared shirts. 

 

Adult Children Pub Night and Tequila Tasting

On Monday, December 23rd, members are invited to participate in a pub night and a tequila tasting from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.! Guests are kindly asked that denim be worn in good taste. Christmas Eve Dinner

Start the holiday season off with Old Palm's annual Christmas Eve dinner from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on December 24th. Enjoy live Christmas carols from the Yuletide Carolers along with elegant cuisine and majestic Christmas decor. Reservations are accepted beginning November 4th as limited seating times are available. Gentlemen are required to wear jackets. 

 

Club Closed For Christmas

The Old Palm Club will be closed on December, 25th.

 

Footgolf

Old Palm is hosting a game of footgolf, a combination of soccer and golf on a modified course, for children 15 years old and younger on December 26th. After the match, drinks and snacks will be provided. 

 

Adult/Child Golf Tournament

On Friday, December 27th, an adult/child golf tournament will be held for members of Old Palm. There will be three divisions offered: the 18-hole division beginning at 1:30 p.m., the 9-hole division at 3:00 p.m., and the 3-hole division at 4:00 p.m. The 18-hole and 9-hole division will be a “modified chapman alternate shot” format, while the 3-hole event will be a scramble. 

 

OP Kids Night

From 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on December 28th, children are invited to participate in an array of fun activities starting at 5:00 p.m., closely followed by a casual dinner buffet at 6:00 p.m.

 

New Year's Eve Dinner

Finish 2019 in style at this year's New Year’s Dinner held at the Clubhouse from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Cocktails will be served in the Courtyard at 6:00 p.m. followed by a choice dinner and dessert in the Clubhouse until 9:00 p.m. Watch the ball drop and indulge in novel cocktails after dinner.
