Looking for ideas to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, here are a few local options for Old Palm Golf Club residents to enjoy! These three events below can be enjoyed on your own, with your loved one, or even the entire family—including your lucky pups! Good cheer (and green beer) can still be found just outside the gates of Old Palm Golf Club, beginning Saturday, March 13.
Duffy’s Shamrock Run
Those who need to satisfy their competitive spirit—or just want to burn a few extra calories before indulging in Shepard’s Pie—can race down to the 45th annual Duffy’s Shamrock Run at John Prince Park in Lake Worth. Events include on-site 5k and 10-mile races, as well as the Li’l Leprechauns 100-yard dash for the kids. The rolling start begins at 7:15 am and goes through 8:00 am to help ensure proper social distancing. Masks are required at the race site, but not while running. Once completed, winners will receive medals, awards will be doled out per age group, and there will even be a costume contest!
Registration is capped at 400 runners per event, though there are also virtual 10-mile and 5k options so you can choose your own route while still catching the thrill of competition. Register now at shamrock.palmbeachroadrunners.com.
BRK Republic Dog Park and Bar
After getting your sweat on, grab your favorite pooch and roll up to BRK Republic Dog Park and Bar for the St. Patrick’s Day In The Park at BRK happening later that same Saturday. This unique venue features an indoor and outdoor dog park, doggie wash station, as well as 30 taps for beer, wine, and sangria. This extremely dog-friendly event will also include live music and drink specials!
Humans can even satisfy their hunger by perusing the menu at Lilo’s—a popular street food vendor open within BRK. Head down to 521 Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach and purchase a day pass for $10.
O’Shea’s Irish Pub All-Day Block Party
Finally, celebrate the lead up to St. Patrick’s Day itself, at the O’Shea’s Irish Pub All-Day Block Party, located at 531 Clematis Street. The revelry begins at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 16, and lasts well into Wednesday. You’ll find live Irish bands, bagpipers, Irish dancers, and vendors galore. This family-friendly event even features a kids FunZone—and is all free of charge! For those looking for a genuine Irish celebration, this is the hottest and only ticket in town.
