The Palm Beach County Library System is now offering virtual book club sessions! Old Palm members and residents interested in learning more about their favorite reads or simply looking for new novel suggestions can once again participate in these highly-anticipated discussions. Take a look below at the virtual sessions offered this May. 

 

"Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng 

On May 13th from 2:00-3:00 p.m., a virtual book discussion will be held discussing the New York Times's best-selling book, “Little Fires Everywhere” by Celeste Ng. This captivating novel depicts the relationship between two women with drastically different backgrounds and the similarities in their approach to motherhood. Celeste Ng will force readers to analyze their definition of a "good parent" and what makes up a person's identity. "My Year Abroad" by Chang-Rae Lee

Join in a virtual discussion of "My Year Abroad" by Chang-Rae Lee from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on May 18th. "The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop" by Fannie Flagg

On Wednesday, May 19th from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m., Old Palm members and residents are encouraged to participate in the virtual discussion of "The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop" by Fannie Flagg. Written by the beloved author of “Fried Green Tomatoes”, Fannie Flagg's latest sequel follows Buddy Threadgoode, Jr., son of the late Ruth Jamison, who once ran the Whistle Stop Cafe. Follow the story of four Chinese immigrant mothers who call themselves the Joy Luck Club as they reveal their life stories and secrets - each becoming more complex than the other.
