Our staff will do about anything for the residents of Old Palm Golf Club, and last month we had the opportunity to really show how helpful we can be. It started with Old Palmâs sales team, who arranged for a couple from the Northeast to lease a home here for the season Rather than fly in with several months worth of luggage, for convenience the couple shipped their clothes to the sales office. Everything was then delivered to their home, so it would be waiting for the coupleâs arrival on New Yearâs Eve. We even stocked the refrigerator with essentials, so they wouldnât have to rush out for groceries But our hospitality didnât end there. We invited the couple to that nightâs New Yearâs Eve celebration at the Club, and the staff there made sure they were warmly welcomed. Members were told that…
Thereâs a new brew on tap in the Menâs Lounge at Old Palm. Itâs a toasted lager from Blue Point Brewing Company, Long Islandâs only microbrewery. Copper in color, this award-winning beer is made from six different malts for an exceptional, long-lasting smooth finish. Blue Point suggests pairing the toasted lager with grilled meats, barbecue, seafood, chowder or similar dishes. Be sure to try it the next time youâre in the Menâs Lounge. After all, in the words of home brewer and U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, âBeer, if drunk with moderation, softens the temper, cheers the spirit and promotes health.â
How do you snag a childâs interest in golf? The SNAG® golf instruction program is a great place to start. Thatâs what Old Palmâs Director of Instruction Mark Hackett used to hook kids on the game during our 3-day Childrenâs Holiday Golf Clinic in late December. Nearly a dozen of our membersâ kids and grandkids showed up at the Old Palm Golf Studio each day, eager to learn golf the SNAG way. They all caught on instantly and the game really held their interest because SNAG golf equipment is modified and the instruction simplified. SNAG golf isnât just for beginners, either. Itâs a fun alternate for golfers of all skill levels.
This year is sure to be every bit as exciting as 2011 at Old Palm Golf Club, as four new model homes are opening in Old Palmâs Golf Estates neighborhood in January alone. Two models were built by Courchene Development Corporation; the other two by Mustapick Estate Homes. While each home is magnificent in its own way, they all offer the amenities luxury homebuyers want most, including high ceilings, beautiful woodwork, light interiors, spacious Master Suites, top-of-the-line appliances, and impact-resistant windows and doors Although similar in price, ranging from $1,535,000 to $1,815,000, the homes offer the buyer plenty of choices. Thereâs variety in the number of bedrooms, whether thereâs a Great Room or Family Room, and whether the home overlooks the Raymond Floyd-designed golf course or a spectacular, lushly landscaped lagoon Mustapickâs magnificent 3,855-square-foot Marseilles model offers three bedrooms, a den, and a great room. Home sales at Old Palm were spectacular last year with more than $50 million in luxury properties sold; two of them in the last two weeks of December alone. Perhaps most flattering of all, six of the buyers were existing homeowners who wanted to build larger homes here, confirming that Old Palm is definitely the perfect private Club community for them The momentum has continued right into 2012, as an unparalleled number of potential members are touring Old Palm all the time. Theyâre coming from other luxury communities in and around Palm Beach County and from out of state, often from the Northeast. Many of them are looking to buy more expansive homes on larger lots While thereâs no single reason why interest is escalating, the opening of several new model homes in our Grand Estates and Golf Estates neighborhoods has certainly helped to fuel the excitement. Luxury…
