Golf is a family affair at Old Palm
April 10, 2015

Playing golf together is a great way for family members to have fun, become even closer and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that is so synonymous with Florida. Recognizing all the benefits of a family golf outing, Old Palm recently held a Parent-Child Golf Tournament on our spectacular Raymond Floyd-designed golf course Each team was comprised of two peopleâ an adult at least 18 years old, paired with a child no older than 17. To add to the competitive spirit, several different divisions were offered so teams could choose the most suitable number of holes and format for their games The 18-hole division and 9-hole event were played according to a Modified Chapman Alternate Shot Format. In that format, both players hit tee shots and then hit their second shots from their partnerâs tee shot location. Then they select one ball to complete the hole, alternating shots until the ball…

Every dish imaginable was available from the hot and cold buffets, omelet station, carving station, and pancake station. Old Palm ladies to enjoy TPC Sawgrass golf trip
April 03, 2015

The golfers at Old Palm are used to playing a spectacular course. After all, the legendary Raymond Floyd, a resident and member of Old Palm, designed the 18-hole layout and the devilish bye hole. So it’s only natural that the lady golfers at Old Palm chose TPC Sawgrass for their upcoming golf trip. Each year, its famed Stadium Course hosts the prestigious Players Championship, the unofficial “5th Majorâ on the PGA Tour Old Palm Assistant Golf Pro Michelle Chagnon will accompany the ladies on the getaway, which is four days of fun and games. From their home away from home at the Marriott Sawgrass, the ladies will enjoy as many as four rounds of golf (on the Stadium Course and at Sawgrass Country Club), exceptional shopping and the resortâs lavish amenities, including the transformational spa. This is the fourth year that Old Palm has offered this…

Old Palm holds a spirited golf clinic
April 01, 2015

The lady golfers at Old Palm had plenty to toast recently when they attended a special clinic at the Golf Studio. Not only did they improve their games, they had a great time while sipping complimentary mimosas and champagne between shots. These clinics are held weekly to help the ladies sharpen their swings and learn more about the game through segments devoted to golf etiquette and golf rules Old Palmâs Golf Studio was the ideal setting for the clinic, as itâs an unparalleled practice facility. Thereâs a double-ended driving range, a short-game area, and three regulation practice holes â a par 3, 4, and 5 â on which golfers can replicate every shot and angle they encounter on Old Palmâs spectacular Raymond Floyd-designed golf course. Inside the covered hitting bay, Old Palmâs instructors use advanced technologies such as Trackman Combine and the V1 Swing Analysis…
