Weekend dinners are extra-special at the Club
June 19, 2015
Meals are always spectacular at the Club at Old Palm, but weekend dinners often take on an even more special flair. Executive Chef Jason Soule makes sure that the menus are inventive and that they include a variety of dishes suited to every imaginable taste. For instance, Chef Soule kicked off a recent weekend with a Friday Night menu that Old Palm members found tantalizing. Appetizers included Jumbo Lump Crab Cake and Truffled Steak Tartar. There was a fine selection of garden-fresh salads, and entrees ran the gamut from Sautéed Veal Medallions Marsala to Yellowtail Snapper Francaise to Ginger Glazed Kurobuta Pork Chop. The following Sunday Night on the Grill menu was just as savory. Prime New York Strip Steaks, thick Tenderloins and succulent Atlantic Salmon and were grilled to perfection. The Pasta Station featured Rigatoni with Meatballs and Italian Sausage and Spring Vegetable Pasta Primavera. The buffet was a…

The Easter bunny makes an appearance at Old Palm
April 22, 2015

Easter Sunday was the culmination of a fun-filled weekend at Old Palm recently, and the one of the highlights was the Easter Bunny. Dressed in a costume that included a bright green jacket, purple pants and a purple top hat, the white-furred bunny entertained the crowd of kids and happily stood by while their parents and a professional photographer took pictures The kids also participated in two rousing Easter egg hunts on the Clubâs event lawn. One egg hunt was for children five and under, the other one was for older kids. Both groups had a great time, and their big smiles made for terrific photographs The food from the Club was just as impressive. It started with a 3-hour brunch with every dish imaginable from the hot and cold buffets, omelet station, carving station, and pancake station. Later in the day, the Club served an extraordinary dinner with…

Weekend all about golf
April 17, 2015

Golf is synonymous with Old Palm Golf Club, and itâs no wonder. The legendary Raymond Floyd designed the spectacular golf course, the Golf Studio practice facility is unparalleled, and members can participate in special golf events all the time. For instance, during a recent weekend, members had several opportunities to join in the fun and enhance their games As a prelude to the weekend, Titleist held a demo and club-fitting event at the Golf Studio, where members tried Titleistâs new 915 drivers, fairway woods and hybrids, as well as the new redesigned AP1 and AP2 irons. The clubs offer all sorts of benefits, including more distance, more forgiveness, and precision engineering for optimum flight and control Over the weekend, the Old Palm Ladies and Gentlemenâs Member-Member Championship was held. Following breakfast on Saturday, the golfers hit the links and competed in a Scramble format. Sunday tee times…

Residents rustle up their pardners for a good ol’ time
April 15, 2015

It was Western Night recently at Old Palm Golf Club, and everyone who attended the festivities at the Club had a dandy time. Most of the residents wore their finest western wear, which included pointy-toed boots, big-buckle belts, ten-gallon hats and Sunday-best denims The celebration of the Old West began with cocktails and a western-style dinner prepared by the Clubâs extraordinary chefs. There was plenty of western-style entertainment, too. The more adventurous Old Palm residents tried their luck riding the mechanical bull, and it was pretty darn amusingâespecially for those watching The Shane Duncan Band was on hand to play a variety of country favorites, and it wasnât long before the dance floor was filled. The band of five plays throughout Florida and recently released a new album described as a âroller coaster ride of country rock tunesâ that includes âThe Devil Went Down to…
