Ladies spend a fashionable evening at Saks Fifth Avenue
March 23, 2012

Fashion was center stage recently, when more than 45 ladies from Old Palm Golf Club attended a special evening at Saks Fifth Avenue in the Gardens Mall. It was quite the Ladies Night Out, starting with cocktails and a presentation by award-winning handbag designer Carlos Falchi, who showcased his latest creations. Interest was high among the ladies, as many of them carried Falchi handbags. Then it was on to the Saks beauty department, where Chanel national makeup artist John Fussel demonstrated the hottest looks for spring, followed by dinner and a private fashion show. The ladies saw the latest collections from designers such as Emilio Pucci, Escada, Stella McCartney, Piazza Sempione, Elie Tahari and many others. Finally, after dessert and a friendly game of “Fashion Wars,” the ladies returned to Old Palm, primed for another shopping spree.

Competition was fierce at the latest Men’s Member-Guest Invitational at Old Palm Golf Club, but you’d never know it because everyone was having so much fun. The festivities began with a day of practice rounds, cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres, and a spectacular stag dinner. The atmosphere was light and lively, as nearly 100 competitors mingled and welcomed guests, many of them from other clubs in the Palm Beaches Over the next two days, it was nonstop action. Trick shot artist Dan Boever dazzled the crowd, juicy steaks sizzled on the grill, tropical smoothies were whipped up in blenders and, of course, a lot of 9-hole matches were played on Old Palm’s Raymond Floyd-designed golf course. One of the members even aced the 15th hole. The competition came to a close on Saturday evening with a lavish awards dinner, where the winners in each flight were…

Guests enjoy a different golf experience
March 16, 2012

It didnât take long for non-members guests at our recent Menâs Guest golf outing to realize that playing at Old Palm Golf Club is an experience unlike any other. For starters, the legendary Raymond Floyd designed our course to beautifully complement the landâs natural contours The front nine features wide fairways so it plays like a classic open Florida layout, and the back nine has a North Carolina feel as the fairways are carved out of dense stands of pine trees. Most Many of the guests in that participated in the event belong to other private clubs in the Palm Beaches, and they all agreed that Old Palm offers a golf experience that is truly unique The difference also extends into our Club experience after the round, where the 60 or so golfers gathered for hors dâoeuvres, cocktails and lunch was also set apart. What really…

Add perhaps the most famous âmad sceneâ in the history of opera, and the show becomes all the more irresistible As an overture to âLucia,â guests will enjoy a dinner buffet at the Club and a fascinating lecture by Old Palm resident Sandy Fisher, Managing Director on the Board of New Yorkâs Metropolitan Opera. Then, itâs on to the Kravis concert hall, where soprano Valentina Farcas will sing the title role of…
